NFL icon Tom Brady has put speculation he could make another sensational return from retirement to bed by, again, confirming that he has hung up his cleats for good.

The seven-time New England Patriots winner retired following one of the most glittering careers in sporting history in February of this year at the age of 46. But even after 23 seasons of service for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it would appear that some fans still haven't seen enough of Brady.

Those still enamoured by the prospect of the former quarterback taking to the field once more include popular YouTuber Mr Beast, otherwise known as Jimmy Donaldson. During an interview with the Patriots legend on Sirius FM podcast 'Let's Go', the internet sensation jokingly put the possibility to him.

Donaldson quipped: "Well, if you really wanted it to take off, I'd have Tom say he is coming outta retirement. There you go," before Brady interjected to throw cold water on the host's tongue-in-cheek comment, replying: "Smart, Jimmy. I am not coming out of retirement."

Of course, Brady famously came out of retirement before, reversing his decision to step away from the sport in 2021. In a move that rocked the sport, the veteran QB returned to action after just two months of retirement, playing his third season with the Bucs.

It appeared that the NFL hero was in no mood to entertain the idea that he would repeat the feat this time around, however. In fact, he offered a frank rebuttal, claiming that his family would not allow it, laughing: "I can't tease that, my parents would call, my kids would call, they'd kill me.

"I wouldn't be around by tonight as I said, you're only allowed one un-retirement and I've used it up. So at this point I'm just looking forward to being in more of your videos 'cause my kids don't think I'm s***.

He added: "At the end of the day, you know, Jimmy's the one that, he's got their attention so if he tells 'em to do something, he's got a lot more influence than I do. So I'm actually trying to stay on their good side."

After finally walking away from the sport earlier in the year, it appears that Brady is instead throwing himself into his business interests. Among his portfolio of assets is a minority stake at Birmingham City and it would seem that his role at St Andrew's is his new passion.

Recently-installed head coach Wayne Rooney hinted that the Patriots legend is taking a hands-on approach at the EFL Championship side, asserting: "I have spoken to Tom [Brady], he is very ambitious to move this club forward.

"It’s great to have him here, it’s important for the players to see Tom Brady have an involvement. It’s very clear that Tom is fully involved in the club."
