San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has weighed in on the ongoing feud following George Kittle’s choice of T-shirt.
The Niners tight end wore the controversial clothing during the 42-10 win against the Dallas Cowboys in the Week 5 contest of the NFL on Sunday. Kittle scored three receiving touchdowns and lifted up his jersey in celebration to reveal the T-shirt after one of his scores.
The T-shirt had the Cowboys logo printed on it, accompanied by an X-rated message which read “F*** Dallas”. A report in has claimed that the NFL is considering fining Kittle for the use of the T-shirt, and it was a message that certainly caught the attention of one of the Cowboys players in the days that followed.
Dallas linebacker Micah Parsons criticised the choice of attire by Kittle during his podcast, ‘The Edge with Micah Parsons’, on Tuesday. Parsons argued that the use of the T-shirt from Kittle made things “personal” between the Cowboys and the Niners.

The comments from Parsons led to Niners receiver Deebo Samuel offering his own response. Now Shanahan has been asked about Kittle’s choice of T-shirt, and offered a rather witty response.
“Not much,” Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday, via , when asked what he thought of Kittle’s T-shirt. “Just Kittle, WWE stuff, entertainment. Not really much, just smiled at it.”
The Cowboys have been on the receiving end of play-off defeats by the Niners in each of the previous two seasons. In 2022, Dallas lost in the NFC divisional round, and in 2021 the two teams met in the Wild Card match-up, where San Francisco emerged victorious.
Kittle was asked about his choice of T-shirt while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday. The Niners tight end gave an honest response, where he admitted that he wasn’t aware of what T-shirt he was actually wearing.

“I might’ve been mildly inspired by our guy, Gary Plummer [former 49ers linebacker], who wore that in the ’94 NFC Championship Game versus Dallas.
“There’s some things that need to be worn for the franchise and I think it’s just coincidence it just happened to appear on my chest on ‘Sunday Night Football’.”
