B&M shoppers flock to buy 'lovely' £18 item that slashes heating costs
Amid the cost of living crisis, everything has gone up and energy bills have skyrocketed. And while it's important to make sure we're keeping our homes heated this winter, to stay warm and avoid getting ill, it's understandable that you might not want to spend a fortune heating your home all day, every day.
As such you might want to look for ways to slash your energy bills - from heated airers to dry your clothes to portable heaters there are various ways to do this. But B&M shoppers think they've found a genius way to keep cosy as the temperatures drop, and it will only cost you £18.
The Cream Hearts Snuggle Hoodie from B&M (B&M)That's because the store is selling a 'Snuggle Hoodie' which has been compared to the popular Oodies. The oversized hoodie is £18 for a woman's one and £20 for a men's one, and they also sell different ones for children. B&M's product description reads: "Keep yourself warm and cosy with this fully lined snuggle hoodie with a kangaroo pocket."
The hoodies come in various different patterns, including white stars, pink print, starry night, cream hearts, pink hearts, and white print. However, it's worth noting that they are one size only, so there's no guarantee they'll fit everyone, but so far they've been a big hit online.
The product went viral last September, when they previously cost just £12 each. At the time, one satisfied customer took to the Extreme Coupons and Bargaining UK Facebook page and wrote: "Bought this for Christmas but my daughter spotted them in boot of my car, so my daughter and sons had them early as it's starting to feel chilly at night.
Shop prices 'are yet to peak and will remain high' as inflation hits new heights
"These have lovely warm sherpa lining to snuggle up in to save having to use our heating oil at the moment until it gets colder. I tried daughters on it's age 11-13-years. To give you a size guide, I'm 4ft 10" and it fits me lol they also have unicorn or rainbows design, also available in adults sizes. Not sure how they compare to Oodies as daughter wants one but these are a fab price, very warm and cosy!"
The mum's post went viral, garnering hundreds of replies, with people sharing other similar products that they had found which are cheaper than the Oodie, for which prices start at around £50. Someone else urged shoppers to try the Primark version too, saying: "We had the Primark version last year and lived in them so have invested in the real thing this year since they are doing two-for-one (still £42 each) but think it will be worth it with the fuel crisis and given how much we wore them last year."
