Harry and Meghan release heartfelt statement as Israel and Hamas step up attacks
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a heartfelt statement about the Israel-Hamas war.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have affirmed that they are standing against "all acts of terrorism and brutality" in a statement posted on the couple’s Archewell website, which comes after they were seen in New York City with a seven-car convoy for a public appearance at a mental wellness event.
Under the title "With Heavy Hearts", the statement on their website read: "At The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, we stand against all acts of terrorism and brutality. We are supporting our partners and organizations on the frontlines in Israel to provide the urgent aid needed, and to help all innocent victims of this unconscionable level of human suffering."

Alongside the screengrab, Omid penned: "The Archewell Foundation, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan last night released a short statement on the Israel-Hamas war."

Fans have reacted to the couple's statement, with one person writing: "Great statement. Strongly denounces all acts of terrorism and brutality categorically and without label. Reinforces actions Archewell will take to support peace efforts so that all innocents impacted by this historical conflict can find aid."
The ongoing war and conflict is sparking many public figures to speak out (AP)This statement and show of solidarity comes amid the war which has claimed at least 2,300 lives on both sides. It comes after King Charles offered “thoughts and prayers” for those caught up in the conflict, “particularly those who have lost loved ones”. Buckingham Palace said: “His Majesty is appalled by and condemns the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel.”
Prince William and Kate also condemned the Hamas attack. Kensington Palace said: “The Prince and Princess of Wales are profoundly distressed by the devastating events that have unfolded.”
The Waleses statement continued: "The horrors inflicted by Hamas's terrorist attack upon Israel are appalling; they utterly condemn them. As Israel exercises its right of self defence, all Israelis and Palestinians will continue to be stalked by grief, fear and anger in the time to come.
"Their Royal Highnesses hold all the victims, their families and their friends in their hearts and minds. Those The Prince of Wales met in 2018 overwhelmingly shared a common hope - that of a better future."
The statement concluded: "In the midst of such terrible suffering, The Prince and Princess continue to share that hope without reservation."
