A dermatologist has been praised for sharing how to slow premature aging without making much of an effort. Lindsey Zubritsky, known as @dermguru online, has taken to Instagram to share the "three crucial things to do" to look years younger than your true age.

In her video, she said: "I'm going to spill the tea and tell you three things you can do that will make a huge difference in aging that are either free or relatively affordable. Number one is no tanning. That includes tanning beds or laying out. Anytime our skin gets tan that is actual DNA damage. UV rays are easily the biggest offender in rapidly aging.

"Number two is to avoid cigarette smoking or vaping. This causes an inflammatory response in our body and produces enzymes that break down the collagen in our skin, rapidly aging us." Most importantly, Lindsey recommends putting a consistent skincare routine with SPF (sun protection factor) and retinoids in place, saying "These two ingredients do 90 per cent of the work when it comes to aging".

In her caption, she added: "Just going to leave this here: if you avoid damaging UV rays, take care of your body, and keep your skincare routine effective and consistent, you can age gracefully and slow premature aging." Commenting on her post, one user said: "Lay off the booze. I know literally nobody in their twenties wants to hear that but it’s true."

Another user added: "Great points and honestly I have seen such a difference in my skin since I started using SPF religiously and double cleansing." A third user said: "It’s really that simple!"

One more user added: "Let's remember it's really important to have healthy skin but even healthy skin ages. We shouldn't be afraid of aging or obsess over looking 'youthful' because it can severely damage your mental health. Wrinkles and fine lines are normal there is a difference between damaged unhealthy skin, healthy aging skin, and unhealthy idea of what skin should look like."
