Josie Gibson's urgent plea to Big Brother bosses after emotional time on show
Big Brother is finally making its return after five years away with a new set of hosts and exciting line-up - and as the new series is just two days away, former winner Josie Gibson has issued a plea to Big Brother bosses as she hopes an imminent change will be made.
The much-loved reality TV programme will be back on screens this Sunday (October 8) and will run on ITV2 for six weeks. Big Brother has not been on TV since 2018 when it was axed by Channel 5, but a 'Big Brother for the Love Island generation' is set to air very soon. During last year's Love Island final, the comeback was teased for the first time - sending fans into a frenzy.
Big Brother: The Launch will air on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX in a disruptive multi-channel and streaming takeover. The remainder of the series will be available nightly at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX - apart from Saturdays. Having won Big Brother back in 2010, Josie has remained a national treasure, but ahead of the brand-new series, she has reflected on her time in the famous house, and hopes that the new series will bring about a much-needed change.
After winning the 11th series of Big Brother, it later emerged that she landed 77.5% of the public vote – the highest number in any series. Due to her infectious personality, her down-to-earth nature, and her charming way with people, it didn't take long for Josie to steal the hearts of the nation.
Josie Gibson won Big Brother back in 2010 (Channel 4)Over thirteen years after winning the show and becoming a household name, the This Morning presenter has now shared her excitement for the brand-new series, which will be fronted by Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Odudu and E4 presenter Will Best. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror ahead of the new launch, Josie said that she hopes 'with all her heart' that Big Brother bosses have cast 'real people' for the new series - and not people who are just in it for fame.

"I think Big Brother need to really put normal people in there. Normal people, with normal lives and normal jobs. Normal people who have had to fish down the back of the sofa for change in order to buy a pint of milk from the shop. People who know struggle, and people who are down to earth. People with normal problems and people who have normal, everyday struggles," Josie insisted.
"Not people who just want the fame - people who actually enter this house to change their lives for the better. That's what we all want to see - that's what people in this day and age can relate to. People who can share their journey, and not just people who are looking for fame and fortune.
"The one piece of advice I would give to anyone entering the Big Brother house this year is to be yourself. And don't get stressed out, some people think that going into the house is the most stressful thing in the world, but you just have to enjoy every moment because it actually does go so fast.
"Not many people get chosen to go into that house, so it's a once and a lifetime opportunity - just enjoy every moment. And if you get anything off the back of it, then amazing, but if not, you have done something that very few people will ever get the chance to in life. It completely changed my life," Josie added.

Josie found fame on Big Brother (Instagram)"It's the most magical experience you will ever have in your life, and I know that I wouldn't be where I am today without it."
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror last month, the much-loved TV star opened up about how bagging a spot on the famous This Morning has made her confidence soar, and how working alongside Holly feels like an 'honour' after being a fan of the ITV programme for years on end.
"I still can't believe I'm doing [This Morning]. I really cannot believe I'm doing it. I never would have thought that I would have the confidence and belief in myself to do it. But, something has obviously kicked in because I'm doing it, so I feel very honoured that ITV bosses trust me to present a huge show like This Morning," Josie shared.
"I've done This Morning for two and a half hours today, so two and a half hours of live telly - it's honestly like a dream come true. It was a dream gig anyway before I was presenting on the sofa."
Shedding light on where Josie eventually found the confidence to chase after her dreams of becoming a This Morning presenter, the mum-of-one admitted that her self-belief grew once she gave birth to her son Reggie, who is now five.
"My confidence grew when I had Reggie, for sure. I'm a totally different person now after having him. I know myself a lot better now. Also, I feel like This Morning really helped me grow. First of all, they would give me a minute of TV, then two minutes, then eight minutes, then fifteen, and now I'm presenting the show for two and a half hours. They slowly built me up," Josie further explained.
