Former Love Island star Georgia Harrison stunned on the red carpet in a glistening gown adorned with red sequins and a floral motif design.

Revealing it’s her first time attending the Pride of Britain Awards, Georgia said she’s "so excited" to be a part of such an important event and added she will "definitely cry at some point" while celebrating the nation’s heroes.

Speaking candidly about how life has been since her ex partner Stephen Bear was convicted for revenge porn, Georgia said it has been an “absolute whirlwind”. She added: “I went from such a low place to such a high, I feel so empowered and that a lot of things are changing in society. I think we’re at a turning point where women are going to be protected so much more.”

The Love Islander-turned campaigner told The Mirror she’s “so proud” of her accomplishments since releasing a tell-all documentary about her harrowing experience of image-based sexual abuse earlier this year.

“My proudest moment was making an amendment to the law. I’d spent so much time reading other women’s stories and I really wanted to do what I could for them. I had a success story but so many people don’t. When I got told the law was changing, that was monumental for me, I’m still taking it in.”

Opening up about her upcoming book ‘Taking Back My Power: Our Bodies. Our Consent’, Georgia said: “It’s a hard read. There was a lot of traumatic things that happened to me very close together, but I hope that people can be inspired and hope I can truly help people going through hard times to navigate their journey and to have a bit of faith that it’s not the end and there are tools to get through those moments. And once you do there’s always something on the other side.”

“I want people to know that when they are going through their darkest times, it will pass, it always passes.”

The Daily Mirror Pride Of Britain Awards With TSB this evening will be hosted by Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo, with the two stars recently sharing their excitement at teaming up once again for the 24th annual event.

Carol has fronted the awards ever since 1999, with Dancing On Ice judge Ashley joining her side in 2021. The duo first met and formed a friendship thanks to Carol taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2016 alongside Ashley’s brother Jordan – and they’ve grown closer ever since.

“It just feels unique. You see the weight and the gravity of how the night affects not just the winners but everyone in the room. I look forward to it every year. It’s a real honour to get to do it,” Ashley said ahead of hosting the awards this evening, with Carol adding: “It’s just this sort of goodness that’s in the room that you rarely come across as a feeling. It’s gentle, kind and it’s all of the things that we want our lives to be.”

Since co-hosting the ceremony since 2021, Ashley has benefited from Carol’s wealth of experience and learnt a thing or two about hosting from the former Countdown star. “Her demeanour – the way that she speaks to people and the way that she’s got an incredible memory,” the former Britain’s Got Talent star answered when asked what he has taken from working alongside Carol.

Speaking to the Mirror, Ashley added: “When we’re doing the Pride Of Britain Awards, we get to know 30 names over quite a short space of time. You care about everybody’s story, but Carol remembers the details and she speaks to everybody like she knows them.”
