Jurgen Klopp will not get the replay he is demanding after the VAR c*** up against Tottenham last week.
I’ve listened to the audio from the VAR room and there was panic in those voices as it turned into a shambles. The Video Operator, whoever he was, appeared to be the person most in control. The baffling thing is that no one stepped in to inject some calm common sense into that situation.
The game should have been stopped even after the kick off. Just stop it. Change the decision and be done with it. I think Spurs might not have been happy briefly at the time. But there would have ultimately been no arguments because it would have been the right decision. Justice would have been done.
It would have been a first, but it was the right thing to do. It would have taken a brave person to do it, but the outcry from doing it would have been much less than what has happened.
It was an emergency situation. It was a human error. You just stop the game and get it right. In rugby, the TMO works because they are concise. The official says clearly, I am awarding an on field try. Can you check? Good communication. Be clear.

I also think we should be education lads who don’t make it as footballers to get into being referees and officials. It is a lucrative job and you travel the world. Semi automated offsides will help. But this was a human error and there was panic in the room that you could hear.
Jurgen Klopp demanded a replay after Liverpool's defeat at Tottenham (Getty Images)I don’t want to see the refs lose their jobs. People make errors. I am all for giving people second chances. I honestly believe, in that VAR room there should be an ex player, because we see things differently. VAR, protocol doesn’t allow it at the moment but they should try it next season.
