Ten Hag makes alarming point about how Man Utd "can't survive" in matches
Erik ten Hag has admitted Manchester United “can't survive” in some games after their worst start to a season for 37 years.
United have lost five of their last seven games, with boss Ten Hag under pressure for the first time since taking the job 16 months ago. Ahead of Saturday's game against Brentford at Old Trafford, Ten Hag admitted his players struggle to cope in games when things go awry.
“Consistency, that is the problem we are struggling with,” said Ten Hag. "In parts of the game - I will say in big parts of the game - we do a lot of things right, but then there are moments where we are struggling - and in such moments we can't survive.
“In this moment, you have to do the right things, so be consistent and do the job, be consistent in the communication and when you do that, you keep the right organisation and do it like before.
“So definitely, you can mark such a moment as when we score a goal or concede a goal and, when decisive moments go against us, we lose a bit as a team.

“Over big parts in 95 per cent of the game, we are a team, so keep going all the way through and we have to step up.

“I think it's more than one fact. Concentration is one, but there are also other things.
“Most importantly, in such moments, is that you keep on one page and it starts with communication.
“We dropped levels, we fight against it and we have to get back to those levels.
“There are reasons for it, but still it's not acceptable and we have to fight against it.

Sergio Reguilon remains sidelined but Antony, who mad his first appearance since taking timre away from the club as a substitute in Tuesday's 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray, is ready to start, according to Ten Hag.
United's star striker, Marcus Rashford, has one goal in nine games, but Ten Hag said he still has faith in the England forward.
“Everyone knows the qualities he has and if Rashy does the right things and the team does, it's up to him,” said Ten Hag.

“We've seen in the last few weeks he's coming in good positions, but he's struggling - but it will pass.
“Everyone knows the qualities, everyone at Man United backs him, the whole team supports him and believes in him.
“I am sure with that it will change and this will pass.
“It's always the same with strikers: when they don't score for a moment, they need that, they need one goal, then they step up.
“It will come, he's so experienced and when he's doing the right things and he is doing the right things, the momentum will come and he will be on fire."
