When buying mystery packages and pallets online, you never quite know what you're going to get. But one mum was excited to try something a little different and see if she could make a profit, so she dropped $630 (around £518) on a large mystery pallet from Amazon.

The woman, named Ashley Nicholes, posts online under Hustle at Home Mom, and regularly shares videos on YouTube showing her life as a parent and how she makes money as an eBay seller. Ashley specialises in selling clothing, but decided to make a gamble recently on the Amazon pallet in a bid to 'flip' the contents. In her video, she explained: "The only description on this was that it was Amazon returns and a bunch of closed Amazon packages like I have literally no idea what's in this."

She continued: "I paid $630 (£518) total for a large pallet of boxes that I guess are Amazon returns, I've never bought a pallet like this, usually I get clothes and I'm looking through things to see if it's stuff that I want. It should be fun to unbox though and for only $600 I'm sure I'll find at least something good, right?"

Despite this, she then jokingly says "What have I done?" before showing off the huge pile of boxes that came off of the pallet. "My thinking is that most of this will be Facebook Marketplace and local sales which we don't do a ton of, but I hear things can go quickly and I'll price these to move," Ashley explains. She and her husband then start opening the packages to find out what's inside, they then estimate what each item could be worth.

The first item they unbox is a ceiling fan, which they say has to be worth at least $100. They continue on to show off everything else from the pallet and there are some pretty random items inside - including a walker, a leather mat, a pair of lamps, a four-piece sofa slipcover, a globe whiskey decanter set, two ice makers, and a beach umbrella.

There are also several items that they know they won't be able to resell as they are clearly used such as memory foam pillows that had hairs on them and a wooden toilet seat. A few items notably did have very high value though, including a pots and pans set which they estimated would be worth half of what Ashley paid.

By the end of the video after adding up everything, the couple estimate that the value of everything they got would be worth $1,875, so much more than they initially paid. Ashley proclaims: "We totally made our money back, I think there's at least over $1,000 worth of stuff here."

The mum ends the video, by sharing that she had listed all of the items she thought would sell on Facebook but so far only a few items had sold - the fake plant for $60, a chandelier light for $75, two lamps for $50 and a floor lamp for $75. She said: "Some decent sales so far, but I do have like 15 other big, bulky items just sitting in my garage taking up space. So I will probably lower the prices on those to get them moving."
