As gender reveal parties become increasingly popular, parents-to-be are getting even more creative with ideas on how to mark the occasion. From smoke canisters to coloured cakes and popping balloons, it's a time when parents come together to share the special moment.

But one couple has caused a stir as people claim they look seriously 'disappointed' with the gender of their baby in a video they shared online.

The video was posted on the soon-to-be dad Aidan's TikTok page as he stood next to his pregnant partner, but people were left cringing at the awkwardness of the pair.

As a mist of pink paint sprayed from over the blackboard showing they were expecting a little girl, the parent's body language didn't seem too impressed. The mum looked away from the board with her arms crossed and appeared to roll her eyes, whilst Aidan paced back and forth on the spot as he sprayed.

He captioned the video: "Absolutely over the moon can't wait to meet you baby girl first-time dad" but people weren't convinced. Most viewers noted the couple's expression in the clip and couldn't help but notice the awkwardness.

One TikTok user sarcastically wrote: "The visible disappointment on mum's face is just so so heart warming, she's really gonna love that little girl!" Whilst another penned: "The eye roll…the arms crossed… the disappointment.. I'm not crying you are."

Meanwhile, a third jibed: "This is so wholesome and emotional, they look so happy and delighted your daughter would love to look back on this video for sure."

After the influx of negative and sarcastic comments on his video, Aidan then uploaded a follow-up clip, addressing the fact he didn't give his partner any affection or even a hug. He said "For all the haters saying I didn't hug my partner here you go," and shared another clip from the day of him walking over to her and hugging her, debunking all of the comments about there being no physical emotion from the couple.
