The stars of BBC comedy Ghosts have revealed they cried buckets as they decided to end the hit series on a high after five years. Now bosses are planning to run the last ever episode, the festive special on Christmas Day, when fans can bid the ghostly gang a fond farewell.

Martha Howe-Douglas, who plays Lady Button, an Edwardian who falls to her death from a window with a shriek every day, said they had struggled over the decision.
