A mum has been praised for her response to a dramatic incident her daughter was involved in. The woman, who works as an A&E nurse, shared the story online after getting an angry phone call from her child's school while she was at work.

The incident, which took place previously and recently resurfaced online, involved her daughter 'striking' a fellow pupil. The unnamed mum was asked to come down to the school immediately and unsurprisingly, she was pretty shocked by the whole thing. Many parents would be furious and ready to punish their children for their actions, but the mum had a powerful response after learning the full story.

In a post shared on notalwaysright.com, the mum explained what happened. She began by saying that she wasn't allowed to keep her phone on her at work, so the school had called a private line at the hospital. The staff member she spoke to was irritated that it had taken 45 minutes to get through to the parent.

They told her that the situation was "very serious" so the mum headed down to the school where she claims she was taken to the head teacher's office. "I see my daughter, her head of year, a male teacher, the headmaster, a boy with blood around his nose and a red face, and his parents," she says.

The head teacher made a snippy comment about her "FINALLY" joining them, to which she replied: "Yeah, things get busy in A&E. I've spent the last hour administering over 40 stitches to a seven-year-old who was beaten by his mother with a metal ladle and then I had to deal with the police regarding the matter. Sorry for the inconvenience." She said the head tried not to act 'embarrassed' and then told her what happened. The boy had 'twanged' her daughter's bra and she had in turn punched him in the face. She started to get the impression that they were angrier with her daughter than they were with the boy.

So instead of going along with this, she asked: "Oh. And you want to know if I'm going to press charges against him for sexually assaulting my daughter and against the school for allowing him to do it?" Immediately people in the room got very 'jittery' when she mentioned assault and they all tried to tell her it wasn't "that serious". The boy's mother then started crying.

The woman turned to her daughter and asked her to share what happened. The youngster said: "He kept pinging my bra. I asked him to stop but he didn't, so I told Mr. [Teacher]. He told me to 'ignore it.' [Boy] did it again and undid my bra so I hit him. Then he stopped." Disturbed by this, the mum turned to the teacher and asks: "You let him do this? Why didn't you stop him? Come over here and let me touch the front of your trousers."

Flustered, the teacher says no. The mum continued: "Does that seem inappropriate to you? Why don't you go and pull on Mrs. [Head Of Year]'s bra right now. See how fun it is for her. Or on that boy's mum's bra. Or mine. You think just because they’re kids it's fun?" At this point the head interrupts to point out that the girl still "beat" another child.

"No. She defended herself against a sexual attack from another pupil," stated the parent. "Look at them; he's nearly 6 feet and 11 or 12 stone. She's 5 feet and 6 stone. He's a foot taller than her and twice as heavy. How many times should she have let him touch her? If the person who was supposed to help and protect her in a classroom couldn’t be bothered what should she have done? He pulled her bra so hard it came undone."

She added: "I'm taking her home. I think the boy has learnt his lesson. And I hope nothing like this ever happens again, not only to [my daughter], but to any other girl at this school. You wouldn't let him do it to a member of staff so what makes you think he can do it to a girl of 15 is beyond me. I will be reporting this to the governors. And if you EVER touch my daughter again I WILL have you arrested for sexual assault. Do you understand me?"

The mum recalls gathering her daughter's things and taking her home from school - but she didn't drop the issue. She then went on to report it to the Board of Governors, who assured her it would be strongly dealt with. She also reported it to OFSTED who said they would contact the school. Her daughter was then placed into a different class away from the teacher and the boy involved.

People online loved the mum's response and praised her for standing up for her daughter. One person replied: "THAT is how you parent." Another commented: "I have nothing but the utmost respect for your work and every single thing you said and did during this confrontation as well as what you followed up with it... Thank you for being a model f***ing citizen." While a third admitted: "Oh man, if I could have been a fly on the wall they would have heard me clapping my little arms off. This story just gets better and better."
