Police have launched an "urgent" murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death on a city street.
The victim, in his 40s, was discovered by emergency services with multiple stab wounds on Typhoon Way in Sutton just after 9pm on Monday. Despite paramedics' efforts, he died at the scene. Officers have since put in place a crime scene that stretches across neighbouring streets.
The attacker is thought to be still at large and no arrests have been made, reports My London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called at approximately 21:01hrs on Monday, 2 October to reports of a man suffering stab injuries in Typhoon Way.
Police have not made any arrests in connection with the incident (UKNIP)"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man, believed aged in his 40s, was treated at the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he sadly died as a result of his injuries. A crime scene remains in place at the location and urgent enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue."
The latest stabbing in Croydon comes just days after 15-year-old Elianne Andam died in a knife attack last Wednesday morning in an unrelated incident. A 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons has been charged with Elianne's murder and possession of a weapon in public.
