Ten Hag adamant on Man Utd progress as Champions League hopes talked up
Manchester United's season went from bad to worse on Saturday as Crystal Palace left Old Trafford with all three points.
Their hectic schedule means they will be playing in midweek once again, this time in Europe as they welcome Galatasaray to town. The Turkish outfit will be looking to seize on an underperforming side, who lost their Champions League opener at Bayern Munich.
Erik ten Hag has seen his team lose nearly half of their games across all competitions thus far but is adamant they are not going backwards as he deals with the toughest period of his tenure to date.
Here's the latest from Old Trafford.
Ten Hag rejects lack of progress
Ten Hag maintains United are moving in the right direction in his second season despite them suffering another defeat at the weekend.

The Eagles dealt the Red Devils a loss on their own patch as they lose further touch with those at the top of the league. Ten Hag was allowed to spend more money in the summer but is battling a lengthy injury list and insists they have not stopped progressing.
He said: "I think I don't agree with that [lack of progress]. The team is moving forward, but we have to make adjustments as well. When you don't have a left-back [fit], we have to change and we did. At the end of the day, it's about results and we didn't get the result we were looking for, which is very disappointing."

Raphael Varane insists the current crop of stars can deliver the Champions League despite their season failing to ignite thus far.
The Red Devils have already lost their first European outing, going down at Bayern Munich with games against Galatasaray and Copenhagen to come. Varane has tasted Champions League success numerous times with Real Madrid, but United have struggled over the past decade.
Despite not making the last four in over a decade, the Frenchman believes they can deliver Europe's top prize. “Yes, I think so, I think the quality is in the squad,” said Varane. "The competition is difficult, you have to take care of every detail, but we have a team of quality and of good mentality."

Antony could return to the squad for Tuesday's clash (PA)Antony in contention
Antony could be included for the first time since being given his leave of absence to deal with an ongoing police investigation.
The winger has been quizzed by Greater Manchester Police on allegations he strongly denies. He was bought back to training late last week and is now being considered by Ten Hag once again despite several weeks without a game.
The Dutchman claimed that the Brazilian "can probably return" and rejected the idea that him playing sent out a bad message. "Antony co-operated fully and it came out, he's not charged," added the United boss.
