Jennifer and Ben have been plagued by rumours of a split

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck looked tense in an awkward car ride together while out and about in Los Angeles.

The couple, who wed last year in an intimate ceremony before celebrating at a huge star-studded bash at the Oscar winner’s estate in Georgia, have been plagued by rumours of a split in recent months as they’ve been spotted arguing in public, and even at awards shows. Back in May, they were forced to deny they were having a heated exchange on the red carpet of Jennifer’s new film The Mother, after footage of them looking tense and wildly gesticulating.

Now, Jennifer, 54, and Ben have further fuelled rumours of trouble in paradise after they were pictured having a serious conversation while driving around Los Angeles. The duo spoke intensely to each other as they briefly parked up in their car to have a chat, and the mum-of-two appeared tense and annoyed as she spoke to her 51-year-old husband. Oscar winner Ben didn’t look too happy either, and he was gesturing with his hand while looking out of the driver’s side window.

At one point, Jennifer seemed to grit her teeth as she agitatedly pushed her tongue against her lips, and tensed her jaw in frustration as she looked away from Ben while he talked to her. He was gesturing and pointing with his other hand while they were parked up, however Jennifer did not look impressed with what he had to say, and was seen pursing her lips as he spoke.

The couple first began dating in 2002, and just a few months later, Ben popped the question with a huge $2.5million (£2.1million) pink diamond engagement ring. But just days before they were due to tie the knot, Jennifer and Ben announced they were postponing their wedding, and later parted ways for good. Almost two decades later, they delighted fans in 2021 when they were spotted going on a series of low-key dates, and made their reunion red carpet official in September that year at the Venice Film Festival's premiere of Ben’s historical epic The Last Duel.

In April last year, the Jenny from the Block hitmaker announced Ben had popped the question for the second time, and were even looking round properties in Bel Air to house their blended family - Jennifer shares twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Ben is dad to Violet, Seraphina and Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The loved-up couple stunned fans again when they revealed they had eloped to Las Vegas in July, and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, before jetting off to Paris with their kids for a sweet honeymoon. Jennifer and Ben then hosted a huge star-studded bash at the Armageddon actor’s estate in Georgia to celebrate their union, with the Hustlers star describing their union as “heaven”.

However, they’ve been hit with rumours of an impending split, after being pictured having heated arguments in public, Just weeks after they were spotted having a tense exchange at The Mother premiere in May, they were pictured by a passer-by having another tense fight while driving in their car. But sources close to the married couple insist their relationship is “still on fire”, with one telling MailOnline: “Everything is really good right now and should be the same in the near and distant future.”
