This is the moment a woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing a "kind-hearted" and "harmless" man to death in what police are treating as a race-hate crime.

Hubert Brown, affectionately known as Isaac, suffered a stab wound during the broad daylight attack in St Paul's, Bristol last Friday. The 61-year-old was rushed to hospital, but later died.

Footage has now emerged of a barefooted woman being handcuffed at the scene. She looks side to side while surrounded by three officers in the middle of a road, wearing a white roll-neck jumper, joggers and a black backpack. The Mirror understands that the clip is linked to the stabbing incident.

The video comes on the same day that a 36-year-old woman, named Christina Howell, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court for a brief preliminary hearing after being charged with murder. In an emotional statement issued through police this morning, the victim's family said they are "truly devastated" by his death.

They said: "During this difficult time, our family is heartbroken and deeply saddened by the loss of Hubert, affectionately known as Isaac by many. He was a kind-hearted, harmless individual, it is truly devastating that his life ended in such a tragic manner. Accepting that he is no longer with us is incredibly challenging, and we are struggling to comprehend and come to terms with the circumstances surrounding his passing.

"Hubert was a beloved member of our community, and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who went above and beyond to help him during that time, as well as to the police for their ongoing investigation. As a family, we are supporting one another through this trying period, finding solace in each other’s presence and shared memories."

Hubert's relatives are being supported by a specially trained liaison officer, said Avon and Somerset Police. In an earlier statement, the force described him as a "familiar and popular figure" in the area. Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Deepak Kenth said: "Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the deceased, who was a familiar and popular figure to many people in St Paul's.

"We remain very grateful to the community for their prompt action to help the injured man and support for our investigation immediately after this tragedy." Tributes also poured in on social media for the victim, who friends described as "full of energy" and will be "missed by so many".
