Holly Willoughby revealed she was heartbroken as she and her family mourned the loss of their Uncle Ray.

Over the weekend, her sister Kelly took to social media to pay tribute to their uncle with a moving post. Alongside a sweet snap of her late uncle smiling while wearing a suit, Kelly captioned the photo: "Sleep deep Uncle Ray. We are heartbroken to say goodbye so soon."

"Thank you for all the love and the laughs. The kids will forever remember you turning up, taking your hat off and watching with glee as packets of Haribo dropped to the floor. We will miss you so much," she added. Holly took to the comment section to share a heartbroken emoji.

She didn't share a tribute on her own page. Fans and followers rushed to pay their condolences after Kelly shared the news. "I’m so sorry Kelly. Sending you and family lots of love," one user said while another posted: "Sending so much love to all your family May he rest in peace @hollywilloughby @ladywilloughby."

Holly had a difficult year as she dealt with the fallout from Phillip Schofield's affair scandal. Her show, This Morning, was even snubbed during this year's National Television Awards. Thankfully, she had the summer to take her mind off all the headlines and ITV drama.

The telly presenter hasn’t been in the UK much as she enjoyed the summer holidays off work with her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin and three kids, Harry, 14, Belle, 12, and eight-year-old Chester. She spent some time in Portugal in the sunny Algarve where they enjoyed a family holiday.

But Holly revealed she also found time to jet off with husband Dan to celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary, which fell on August 4. Posting a series of photos on her Wylde Moon website, the 42-year-old shared they marked the occasion with a Blur concert in Tuscany, before extending their trip with a visit to the romantic city of Florence.

Posting in a sun hat and white and yellow summer dress, Holly told fans about her “whistlestop weekend in Tuscany”. She wrote: “Our 16th wedding anniversary collided with Blur’s 35th-anniversary reunion tour and as lifelong fans, Dan and I went to go and see them perform in Lucca, Tuscany. That area of Italy always holds a special place for us, as it’s where Dan’s mum Sandra is from.”

Revealing what she and Dan did next, Holly continued: “The day after the concert, we hopped on a train to Florence as I’ve never been before. I know everyone says the same thing but we were completely blown away by everything we saw. Michelangelo’s ‘Statue of David’ had an energy around it unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.”
