Prince Harry delivered a rousing speech full of gags at his brother's wedding to Kate Middleton - and brought a cheeky present for his new sister-in-law while he was at it.
The Duke of Sussex recounted the events of the 2011 royal wedding in his book Spare, explaining his speech was mostly improvised and included heartfelt moments as well as comical anecdotes from their childhood. After the doting royal pair tied the knot at Westminster Abbey, a reception was held at Buckingham Palace in which Harry carried out his duties as best man.
During the speech, the Duke read out letters of good will sent to the couple by people from all over the world - including one man from the US who had tried to capture 1,000 stoats to create a special garment for the newly-wed Kate. The attempt fell somewhat short as he only managed to catch two in the space of a year, but enough fur had been gathered to craft an ermine thong.
Wedding guests, bemused and amused in equal measure at the story, were left even more shocked when Harry pulled the thong out from his pocket and brandished it in front of Kate. The now Princess of Wales is said to have seen the funny side as the gag sent the star-studded audience into fits of laughter.
Harry later continued the speech with a more serious tone, invoking he and William's late mother, Princess Diana. He told guests she would have loved to have witnessed her son's special day and insisted she would have enjoyed the thong joke.
