Coleen Nolan's children helped her find love again with touching gesture

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan was able to find love again after her three children pushed her to attend therapy and encouraged her to love herself as she struggled to recover from her tough breakups.

The 58-year-old TV star is currently dating Michael Jones, whom she met on Tinder in 2020. She has previously been in a long-term relationship with EastEnders Shane Richie, with the pair tying the knot in 1990 but divorcing nine years later. The ex-couple share two children together, Shane, 34, and Jake, 31. Nolan went on to marry Ray Fensome in 2007 and had her third child, Ciara, with her guitarist ex-husband. However, it wasn't meant to be as the couple divorced in 2018.

Coleen is now in a better place as she and Michael are reportedly set to take the next step in their relationship, moving in together. But Coleen says she may never have found her happily ever after if it wasn't for her children's support. She said: "I’ve learned a lot from my kids, they always tell me just to be brave. They were actually the ones who said I needed therapy.

She continued: "The first year I was with Michael, they weren't sure. Because, one minute I was all about him and the next I was saying I finished it, so they were confused. They were super protective of me so they didn’t want me to go back on the dating scene and jump, because they’ve seen me go through things before," explained Coleen. "Then, my son Jake said to me ‘I think you need therapy and to go and learn how to love yourself before you let someone else love you’.

Coleen's new relationship with Michael hit the rocks when they ended up separating just six months after first going public with their relationship back in January last year. However, in June of this year, Coleen announced they were back on and that their relationship was thriving.

The TV presenter revealed she and her boyfriend are in a much better place in their relationship since splitting up. Speaking to Bella Magazine, the mum-of-three said: "It was my fault we kept splitting up. I think because he was very different from my ex-husbands and people I've been out with. He was very attentive and romantic, and at first, I just didn't know what to do with it. It kind of freaked me out a bit. I thought, I don't know why he loves me as much – it was just me.

"Then every time I kind of finished it, I'd miss him so much, then eventually I thought I just need to sort my head out and accept that I deserve to be and can be loved like that. So we got back together, and it's been brilliant and I'm in a much better place."
