Jurgen Klopp and his new look Liverpool side are beginning to build up a head of steam after racking up another victory in midweek.

The Reds battled back from an early scare to beat Leicester City 3-1 in the third round of the Carabao Cup in midweek: their seventh consecutive win in all competitions. And Klopp will be keen for his side to continue that run when they travel to Tottenham on Saturday evening.

Spurs have been reinvigorated by new head coach Ange Postecoglou and are currently just ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League standings. The Reds could make the trip to the capital without vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is facing a race against time to be fit for the crunch clash.

Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest news from in and around Anfield ahead of Saturday's big match...

Klopp recently described Endo as "very calm and polite", but he has now clarified those comments, admitting he is "not too happy" with how he described the midfielder's situation last week.

TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O'Hara has caused a stir online after omitting Virgil van Dijk from his combined Liverpool and Tottenham XI.

The two sides meet at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening in the pick of this weekend's Premier League fixtures. O'Hara marked the occasion by picking the combining the best players of both teams into one dream team - but there was no place for Van Dijk.

O'Hara insisted that "people need to stop living in the past" when it comes to the Dutchman, who has struggled to replicate the same imperious form he produced when he first moved to Anfield.
