Green Bay Packers were beaten 34-20 by the Lions in the NFC North divisional match-up to get Week 4 in the NFL underway, and head coach Matt LaFleur did not hold back with his verdict.

Quarterback Jordan Love completed one touchdown pass with 246 total passing yards with two interceptions. On the other side of the field, the Packers gave up 401 total yards and had two turnovers.

They trailed 27-3 at half-time after a miserable start that left them playing catch-up and while they improved after the interview it wasn't enough for the win that now leaves them one game behind the Detroit Lions

Dan Campbell’s team lead the division with road wins against the Packers and reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs to go with home victories over the Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons.

Green Bay failed to score a touchdown in any of the first two quarters, with only a field goal to show for their efforts. LaFleur was asked for a possible reason behind the team’s dismal opening half, and gave a blunt response.

“We sucked,” LaFleur told reporters in his post-game press conference on Thursday night. “We got our a** kicked. If I knew, it wouldn’t have happened. That’s a BS question.”

LaFleur was pressed again on the manner of the Packers’ loss and the fifth-year head coach did not hide his frustration at the way Green Bay succumbed to the defeat.

“They whooped us,” said LaFleur. “They manhandled us. Again, if I knew the answer to that, it wouldn’t have happened.

“Give Detroit a lot of credit. They came in and whooped us pretty good. They manhandled us, really, in every phase.”

The Packers have a relatively lengthy break until they return to the field in the NFL. Week 5 of the season sees LaFleur’s team go on the road to Nevada to face the Las Vegas Raiders in the Monday Night Football on October 9.

LaFleaur said: "We'll take a good, hard look at over the course of these next 10 days, over the weekend, just try to find different ways to, when it's not going right, how do you flip the momentum?"

"How do you get it going in your favour?"

For the Lions, the team returns to Ford Field to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 5 The previous two games at home this season have resulted in a win against the Atlanta Falcons and a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in overtime.
