Epic Games has confirmed that it's investigating ongoing matchmaking issues affecting Fortnite, with players unable to get into matches.
Update: Fortnite is live once again, with Epic Games confirming on Twitter that the matchmaking issues have been resolved. We've tested this ourselves and have been able to get into a match without any issues. If you are still having issues, try restarting the game before attempting to get into a match.
Original Story: While Fortnite has scheduled downtime whenever an update becomes available (like with the update 26.20 downtime earlier this week), there's always a chance that server issues could crop up at any time. Fortnite players have been reporting issues getting into matches; and while the Fortnite Status website is claiming that the game is fully operational, Epic Games has confirmed the matchmaking issues on Twitter.
The tweet from Epic says "We're aware that some players may experience matchmaking issues. We will provide an update when we have more info". While Epic Games hasn't given a specific time to expect the game to begin working again, depending on the severity of the issue you could be looking at an hour or two before the issue is fully sorted.
We've booted up the game and tested it out and can confirm the matchmaking issues are present, so until Epic Games tweets out that everything is fixed, it's probably best to hang fire and do something else until the game is back.
