Strictly fans convinced pro dancer is set to quit show after 'obvious' sign

Strictly fans have feared one pro dancer could be leaving the show this weekend as viewers vote to keep their favourites in the competition for the first time in the new series.

The BBC show returned to our screens on Saturday, with the new celebrities wowing with their performances and leaving viewers in hysterics including Angela Rippon stealing the show with her racy move whilst Bobby Brazier appeared to have lost his concentration during his routine with Dianne Buswell.

Whilst some were able to impress the judges with their moves - others weren't quite as lucky. the action-packed night saw EastEnders and Casualty star Nigel Harman on top of the leaderboard, meanwhile, BBC Asian Network presenter Nikita Kanda and partner Gorka Marquez only managed to score a measly 18 points.

Fans of the show are now convinced Gorka could pack his bags this weekend - or decide to quit whilst he's ahead. Last year, Gorka managed to make it all the way to the final with partner Helen Skelton, however, the pair sadly missed out on the coveted top spot. Writing on Reddit, one said: "Anyone else have a feeling that Gorka will call it a day after this series if he’s out early doors with Nikita?"

The fan continued: "I was quite surprised he came back this year after he seemed so devastated not to win in 2022, but I’ll be really gutted if he does leave as I see him as one of the best pro dancers and choreo."

Someone else said: "Yeah one of the main things I remember from the final last year was how angry he looked." Another wrote: "I feel that too. I commented earlier that he already looks p*****off and I don't feel he thinks this year's partnership will be his finest hour." A fourth added: "He looked so mad when he didnt win and I thought he would just throw in the towel and spend time with his family."

The Spanish dancer, 33, shares two children with his girlfriend Gemma Atkinson, whom he met on the dance series in 2017. Gemma was partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec while Gorka danced with Alexandra Burke, but that didn't stop them hitting it off and developing a very sweet friendship. After falling head over heels in love, the couple even sparked engagement rumours!
