People are realising their 'childhood was lie' after learning how to cut pizza
How do you cut your pizza? Do you use a cutter, scissors, or are you a savage and simply rip? There are loads of different ways to separate the mouthwatering pieces of dough - but many people are now realising they've been doing it the 'wrong' way their whole lives.
Many have realised there's a much more efficient way of separating pizza slices using a simple item that many just throw in the bin, not realising it has a genius use. When you order a takeaway pizza, one of the perks is that someone has usually cut up the slices for you, but you still have to pull them apart - meaning you sometimes have to grab a piece someone else will eat in order to separate them.
This isn't the most hygienic method and also means you'll get messy hands before you even start eating - not great for those fancy people who like to use a knife and fork. But one social media user has realised there's a much more efficient way of separating the pieces - and has shared the hack online to enlighten others.
Taking to Instagram, Rowheim Farooqui asked his 117k followers: "How old were you when you learned what this little tool in the pizza box did?" In the video, the entrepreneur can be seen using the mini three-legged plastic table that comes with takeaway pizzas, to hold down one slice of pizza, while he pulls away at the one he's going to eat.
The genius hack, which he said was initially shared to him by someone who works at Domino's Pizza, means that he doesn't have to stick his fingers in the pizza he won't be eating. The three-pronged plastic piece was actually designed by Carmela Vitale of New York in 1985 and was used as a way of preventing the lid of the pizza box from sagging to the top of the pizza.

It has many names, from pizza table to pizza tripod - but its main use is believed to be to stop cheese and toppings from sticking to the top of the box. However, many social media users had no idea what it was used for and preferred this explanation.
One person wrote: "I thought it was a toy table. So my childhood was a lie," while another added: "The way my parents didn't even know this. This is generational trauma." A third person commented: "So it's multipurpose then: prevent lid from touching the pizza, to quickly separate pizza slices, Barbie's dinette table. Cool."
