It takes a certain type of person to be able to deal with death. But it's something Dr Mileida Bohórquez copes with on a daily basis thanks to her unusual job. The expert is a forensic doctor or forensic pathologist, so her role involves medically investigating unexpected, suspicious, and/or violent deaths, performing autopsies, and determining how someone's life ended.

The doctor, who is originally from Venezuela but currently lives in the United States, has been opening up about her profession on social media, sharing TikTok videos with her one million followers about what it's really like to work with dead bodies.

Posting under the name @drpatologa16, Dr Bohórquez recently revealed several incidents she'd experienced with dead bodies that many found 'scary' - including corpses opening their eyes. In the video, she shared five things that dead bodies can do, with the first being that they can release gas, or fart. She claimed she has had this happen several times and some bodies do it more than once while she's working.

Next up the medical expert claimed that she'd had her hand 'squeezed' by a dead person and she's also seen them 'open' their eyes while performing autopsies on them. As well as their eyes, some corpses also opened their mouths. She explained that she'd leave the room and their mouth would be shut, but when she returned it was wide open, as if their jaw had dropped.

The final experience she shared was a dead body positioning itself like it was going to give someone a 'hug' moving their arms up and outstretched. While this sure sounds spooky and supernatural, it has previously been found that corpses can move during the decay process. The study, conducted in Australia by Alyson Wilson from Central Queensland University, suggested bodies can be somewhat restless after death.

More than three million people have since watched Dr Bohórquez's video, with over 206,000 liking it and thousands also taking the time to comment. One person said: "I've got goosebumps", while another wrote: "How scary". Someone else said: "My son squeezed my hand and moved his little fingers, he has been gone for almost nine months."

A different user shared a similar experience saying: "When I accompanied my mum in her first deceased period, I put a picture of her children and granddaughter next to her, took her hand, and she bent her fingers." A fifth person added: "My mum smiled at me."
