Brooks Koepka has issued a brutal message to his fellow LIV Golf rebels who were snubbed for the 2023 Ryder Cup.

Koepka, who was seventh in the team standings, wasn't penalised for his choice of tour, with USA team captain Zach Johnson using one of his six picks on the reigning PGA champion.

Others, however, weren't so lucky, with Bryson DeChambeau claiming he felt snubbed by Johnson and let his feelings be known. "If you look at it, it would have been nice to at least just have a call," DeChambeau said at the weekend following a LIV win in Chicago.

"There are numerous people that I think Zach should have called out here, and we didn’t get that. I understand. I get it, but we’re nothing different. We’re still competing. We’re still working super hard to be the best we can possibly be."

DeChambeau added on Koepka's inclusion: "Brooks is obviously going to kill it for Team USA and excited for the team, but it definitely does sting a little bit. Say what you want, we’re still golfers, and I personally could have definitely racked up some points for Team USA."

Koepka, however, has issued a blunt and brutal response to LIV's Ryder Cup missing men. “Play better,” Koepka said Wednesday at Marco Simone, Rome. “That’s always the answer.”

He added: "I don’t make the decisions. Everybody had an opportunity to get there. I had the same opportunity as every other LIV player, and I’m here.”

Like DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson also feels hard done by. Johnson's performances as of late haven't been great, which he acknowledges, but he says that had he been playing on the GTA Tour, he'd be in Rome suiting up for Team USA. Team captain Zach Johnson has already admitted that it would be hard to select LIV Golf rebels for the Ryder Cup. His reasoning was that he does not get to watch them play as regularly.

"I love DJ [Dustin Johnson]," Zach Johnson said. "He’s a dear friend. Obviously, a stud when it comes to playing in competitions. Through & through, his record speaks for itself. You know, it was one of those situations where it’s hard to gather form.

"It’s hard to see how guys are doing when they’re not competing against these guys that earned their way in the team in particular. The way I see it, all the guys that do not play on the PGA Tour had an opportunity to earn their way, or at least be in the realm of complete discussion, and Brooks Koepka put himself in that position with his play.”
