It's an age-old problem in the bedroom - the very real struggle of having to share a duvet. And now one woman has come to the rescue, sharing her unusual sleep method which she claims could even help save marriages.

After many visits to Copenhagen with her husband, Erica Dowdy has taken inspiration from the Scandinavian approach to bedtime. And now she's gone viral after demonstrating the technique.

In a video shared on TikTok, which has now been viewed more than 3.9 million times, Erica explains: "So, in Copenhagen, not once have I slept with one duvet - it is always two twins. And we sleep so good."

She went on to tell her followers that the nifty duvet hack means that no one is left fighting over blankets. "Nobody's too hot or too cold," Erica added. "It's absolutely amazing!"

The American jetsetter also revealed in the video that she has also decided to embrace the Scandinavian aesthetic in her bedroom, swapping white sheets for fun colours and choosing luxurious linen fabric - just as they do in Copenhagen.

Erica's post was quickly inundated with comments from her 195K followers. "Not me realising I sleep with the Copenhagen method already and my husband and I love it!" one wrote. A second echoed: "My husband is from Germany and we've always done this. My favourite way to make the bed is to fold each twin and turn it sideways, it fits perfectly!"

A third commented, "Once you sleep with two comforters, you will NEVER go back to only one!”. And a fourth added: "Hell yeah - not top sheet, two duvet club over here!" A fifth, meanwhile, joked: "We do the large Italian American male with sleep apnea sleep method… separate bedrooms!!"

Earlier this year, a doctor went viral for sharing his sleep hack that will help you drop off in minutes. In the clip, posted on TikTok under the name, @youngeryoudoc , he shared his top tip for helping people fall asleep quickly if you can master the technique.

All you have to do is massage one spot on your wrist, just below your thumb, and if you get the right point you'll be asleep within a few minutes. The clip soon went viral with over 230,000 views, alongside hundreds of comments. One fan said: "Great vid bud. Love all your stuff but this is oddly practical. You rock." A second added: "So great to know these - Thanks for posting."
