Center Parcs worker killed in 'tragic accident' was 'fantastic' nan, say family
A Center Parcs staff member who died in a "tragic accident" has been named and pictured as her family hailed her as a "fantastic grandmother."
Penny Bulpitt, who is believed to be in her 60s, was fatally injured after being hit by a car at the holiday park in Woburn Forest, Bedfordshire, on Friday. Ms Bulpitt's sister-in-law Anna Northwood told the Sun: "She was a fantastic mum and grandmother. We’ll certainly miss her." An online tribute from her family said: "It’s such a horrible shock and heartbreak to us as Nan is the backbone of our family."
Police are investigating the incident, which is believed to have taken place while Miss Bulpitt was in a parking area. Cars are not allowed on roads in the resort except for going to and from accommodation car parks on Mondays and Fridays.
A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service told the Mirror: "We were called at 12.17pm on September 22 with reports of a person who was unconscious in Fordfield Road, Millbrook. We sent East Anglian Air Ambulance and an ambulance. A woman was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by air ambulance."
Center Parcs said it was "deeply saddened" and it was now "working closely with the relevant authorities". In an online tribute, her family said: "It’s such a horrible shock and heartbreak to us as Nan is the backbone of our family."

Detective Sergeant Craig Wheeler, of the Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are investigating a reported collision between a vehicle and a member of staff at Center Parcs Woburn Forest on Friday 22 September. The member of staff was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died later that day. Our thoughts remain with her family."
Friday's tragic incident comes after emergency services were called to another park from the holiday group in Elveden Forest, near Brandon a few months ago. A Suffolk Police spokesman confirmed that a woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene after the unexplained death.
They did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances. A Center Parcs spokesman said in June: "We are deeply saddened by the news of a guest passing away at Center Parcs Elveden Forest. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this distressing time. We are continuing to offer our support to her family and also to our colleagues who assisted emergency services."
Bedfordshire Police and Centre Parcs have been contacted for comment.
