New The Great British Bake Off host Alison Hammond has opened up about a "scary" moment with co-star Paul Hollywood.
The TV personality has joined the popular baking show after replacing Matt Lucas. Despite being excited about taking on her new role, she said she had a near-miss with fellow show star Paul.
He offered to give Alison a lift to her hotel in his fancy Lamborghini when she didn't take long to say yes, but she soon regretted the decision.
Alison said: "He's got a Lamborghini, he's got quite a few cars, he likes his cars. And he said 'Alison, do you want a lift to the hotel?' It was the first day that I was there, I was like 'yeah, yeah, I'd love a lift' I was like 'is that the car I'm going in?'
Alison is joining the show (Mark Bourdillon)"So I had to squeeze myself in this little car, I've never been in one before. I was like 'it's really low down isn't it Paul'."

She then went on to say she got into the car and described Paul as a "scary" driver. Alison said: "Got into the car and he drove and I'll be honest with you, it's the first time I drove with him and the last time I drove with him. He got me there safely however, it was scary."
Holly Willoughby and Ben Shephard were left in stitches as Alison told the funny story while they interviewed her about her new presenting role.
Alison landed the presenting role after she wowed bosses following her stint on the show in 2020 for Stand Up 2 Cancer. She competed against other contenders during her time on the show, such as Strictly Come Dancing star Joe Sugg, Alex Jones and singer James Blunt.
When she competed, she said: "I do think that good food and good baking comes from the heart - and I’ve got a lot of heart. I love chocolate brownies. Any time I go out and about, try a brownie, it never compares to my brownies. I know that sounds really big headed.
"Oh my god, this is just going so well. Things are just running so smooth for me, this is actually boring TV. I’m literally a natural baker - and a natural eater as well."
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4, Tuesday, 8pm
