Plane travel isn't always plain sailing. Whether it's crying babies, loud groups, or people who've had one drink too many, when you're cooped up in a small space with nightmare strangers, it can be hard to keep your cool.
One passenger has revealed that they took drastic measures when they found themselves in a less-than-ideal situation onboard a recent flight. The unnamed social media user claims they were travelling from Germany to Macedonia but before the plane had even left the gate, they felt their seat shaking. Turning around, they saw a man was holding the back of their chair - as they made eye contact, the man quickly let go. But he then continued to repeat the same action multiple times within the next 10 minutes.
This went on and on, with the man retracting his hand only when the irritated passenger kept turning around. Eventually, the passenger had had enough and decided to take drastic action to get their own back. "The next time I felt the shaking, pretending to stretch, I wet my fingers with a generous lick, near spit on them, grabbed the back of my seat, and just doused his hand," they revealed on Reddit.
"Needless to say, he didn't touch my seat for the remainder of the flight. Was I wrong? Didn't know how to get the point across not to keep shaking my seat after many failed attempts." Readers of the post were quick to react, with some branding the act of revenge "brilliant but sick" and many sharing their own similar tales. "Had a similar experience at a concert once," one wrote. "Guy behind me kept putting his hand on my back and trying to push me forward. I let it go and held my ground the first couple of times, but he continued. So I grabbed his hand and held it every time he pushed.
"Eventually he got aggressive about it and I turned around and said look dude if you continue touching me we will be holding hands for the rest of the concert. Guess who moved somewhere else and stopped bothering me. Sometimes you gotta make a power move that they don't expect." While a second person shared: "I got on a flight and a middle-aged woman used my seatback to get up several times. When I overheard her telling her seatmate she was going to use the restroom before the drink service I leaned slightly forward and depressed my seat recline button. As soon as she grabbed the seat it snapped back with no resistance and I let out a yelp like she'd attacked me. Some people can be trained. She avoided my seat the rest of the flight."

And a third added: "I had a woman who reached back over her head and grabbed her seat top covering the top of my screen. I made her aware she was in my space and then she explained to me how this is her seat and she can do what she wants. I fully agreed and asked her what channel she wanted to watch. Every 15 seconds until she shut up. Problem solved for the flight!"
