He might have dabbled in romancing his son's girlfriend, but true love could be on the horizon for one Emmerdale villager in the lead-up to Christmas.
Bear has not had the easiest time on the ITV soap as Paddy struggled with his mental health and did his best to be his son's rock in the wake of his marriage breakdown. Opening up to the Mirror on the Inside Soap Awards red carpet, Bear explained how their father-son relationship took some time to build and that it was always going to be "rocky" but that he was "overprotective".
Wrestler Bear Wolf was first introduced on the soap in 2019 after Paddy discovered the man who raised him wasn't his dad. After attending Bear's wrestling convention with Marlon, he managed to take a DNA test and found out Bear was his dad and travelled to Belfast to reunite with him.
Speaking to the Mirror on the Inside Soap Awards red carpet, actor Joshua Richards said: "It will always be rocky one way or another because Paddy's had such a terrible time in going not just almost to the edge but over the edge. I think his father was a little bit disappointed and also terrified for his safety and wellbeing and he's aware of his fragile mental health at certain times in his life.
Bear hasn't had the best luck with women"I think it took him a long time to get to know him and to get to know what was going on with the relationship, which he thought was very solid with Chas. But sadly because that didn't work out, he's had to defend his son - I think - in a more extreme way because he felt he wasn't able to defend him before. So he's making up for lost time by being overprotective of his son. But hopefully now he knows that Paddy can do it all himself and move it on."

What can expect from Bear over the next few months? "Maybe some love, I think I'd like to see him have a bit of love and companionship." Someone already there? Someone new? "I couldn't possibly tell you!"
