Meghan Markle is hoping she won't be "accused of embarrassing" King Charles as she and Prince Harry are looking to move on from the Royal Family drama, according to an expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made headlines when they spoke out about their experiences in The Firm in their explosive Netflix docuseries, titled Harry & Meghan. In the show, Harry claimed his brother Prince William "screamed and shouted" at him during a meeting to discuss his future.

He also accused his father King Charles of saying things that "simply weren't true". Harry then admitted he was "devastated" at not being able to protect his wife while she was "struggling".

Since the release of their documentary, Meghan and Harry have been seen mingling with celebrities, with rumours they'll be taking Hollywood by storm. Author Clive Irving believes they're now in a position to make a name for themselves away from the Royal Family.

He explained: "Harry and Meghan's celebrity used to rest on the former's connection to the Royal Family, but they've now been celebrities in their own right for so long that they don't need to trade on that anymore. That's no longer part of their lives."

Indeed, Meghan and Harry seem to be making waves in Hollywood and are said to have bought the film rights to Carley Fortune's second novel Meet Me At The Lake. It's believed they spent $3.8million (£3million) to secure the rights.

Clive believes this step into the film world will mean Meghan will no longer make an appearance at royal events. Speaking to The Express US, he added: "Meghan doesn't want to be accused of embarrassing his [Harry's] father or being a burden on the monarchy."

Meghan was recently absent from her husband's quick visit to the UK before the Invictus Games in Germany. The Duke of Sussex paid a visit to London to pay his respects to his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth on the anniversary of her death.
