Meghan Markle seemingly took a "dominant role" at a star-studded event she and Prince Harry attended in Santa Barbara.

The couple, who stepped back as senior working Royals in 2020 and opted for a life under the Californian sunshine, were all smiles as they reunited with Oprah Winfrey at a charity event that was hosted by actor Kevin Costner. The One805 Live! charity event for first responders took place on Friday evening, with the event held at Kevin's $26 million polo field in Santa Barbara.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were only in Germany last weekend for the 2023 Invictus Games, seemingly made a return to their neighborhood and couldn't wait to rub shoulders with some of the most famous people in Hollywood.

Prince Harry opted for an all-black look, with the buttons of his shirt undone at the top, meanwhile his wife wore a monochrome look and oozed glamour in the process. But what did the couple's body language reveal? Well, the Mirror US has exclusively chatted to body language expert Judi James who has analysed the new photos from the event that took place on Friday.

Judi exclusively revealed to us that Meghan’s body language was in full "gracious mode" as she steered Harry around the star-studded charity event. She noted how the Duchess had a "wide, confident smile and with her hands clasped up at chest level".

"She looks entranced by the event and the company, while Harry appears less comfortable, looking rather out of place in the celebrity surroundings," Judi went on to note. She added: "One of his [the Duke's] hands seem keen to stay stuffed in a pocket and it’s Meghan seeming to keep touching him with her hand in small pats or pushes, using steering and encouraging gestures to help him into the right place at the right time."

She then touched on how Harry appeared to look "submissive" while Meghan seemed to "feel the need to hand Kevin Costner’s award to Harry to hand to Costner, before steering her husband with one hand on his back and then giving what looks like a little push on the back as Harry steps up towards the star".

Judi concluded her expert analysis by noting: "It looks very much like Meghan’s gig, with her taking a much more central and dominant role here, perhaps swapping roles and status with her husband after Harry’s star turn at the Invictus Games."
