It doesn't matter how long you spend scrubbing your bathroom clean, if the grout in your shower or around your sink has turned black or yellow, the whole room still looks dirty.

There are shelves full of cleaning products in the supermarkets claiming to banish mould and grime but a simple combination of three cheap products can do the job without a hefty price tag attached.

That's according to a cleaning influencer who has shared her five-minute hack using the "best grout cleaning combo". Sharing her tip on Tik Tok, Carolina McCauley revealed you will need one cup of baking soda, half a cup of hydrogen peroxide and a tablespoon of washing up liquid.

Carolina shows how to mix the baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and washing up liquid together in a bowl. Then using a grout brush apply the mixture along the grout and scrub evenly. She then wipes where she applied the cleaning solution and shows the before and after results.

Carolina's hack could be used anywhere where grout is dirty, including around the sink, in the shower or even in between floor tiles. Baking soda, or bicarbonate of soda has many uses, from baking cakes to teeth whitening and cleaning around the home. It is deodorising and is non abrasive so perfect for using on tiles.

Hydrogen peroxide might sound scary but is simply a chemical made up of hydrogen and oxygen. It is a disinfectant capable of killing bacteria, mould and viruses. Due to its antiseptic properties, in the past it was used to treat cuts but these days it is used around the home for cleaning purposes.

This clever grout hack comes days after one cleaning enthusiast took to TikTok to share her cheap trick to keep her shower head sparkling, using an ingredient you'll already have in your home. In a bid to leave her shower gleaming, Amanda, who runs the account @amanda_cleans, secured a bag of vinegar around her shower head with a rubber band. She then submerged the head in vinegar for an hour.

As she took the bag of vinegar off, giving it a wipe, it looked immediately sparkling - just like it was brand new. Amanda used "regular white vinegar like you would use for cooking". With over 7.9 million views and 276,000 likes, people were amazed by the hack - but they also had questions.
