EastEnders viewers think some bombshell news could rule out one resident as being the victim of the looming Christmas Day murder.
A secret daughter twist and a blast from the past is about to turn one character's life upside down. But it's got viewers thinking that for such big stuff to be happening in the coming weeks and months, could it mean the man in question will not die this December. Viewers know that a mystery male character will die this Christmas, with one of six females tipped to be the killer.
The moment was teased in a flashforward in February, with Denise Fox, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter all stood over a dead body in The Queen Vic, while the male's identity is not known. On Thursday night it was announced two new characters will arrive in Walford, and they share a link to villain Ravi Gulati.
His ex-girlfriend Priya comes back into his life and he learns that he’s the father to a secret daughter he never knew existed. This autumn, Priya and daughter Avani will arrive and soon we learn more about the couple's past, and what led to Ravi taking Nugget away and keeping him from his mother.
A new twist will shock Ravi (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)Ravi has sparked theories recently about being the victim due to possible clues as well as his link to Suki and Denise. But will the arrival of his secret daughter mean the soap are unlikely to kill him off any time soon? Viewers certainly think so, sharing their thoughts on social media.

One viewer posted: "So does this mean no death or prison for Ravi?" as another said: "This is exciting…Ravi can’t be on the floor now, surely??" A third fan tweeted: "Well this is a turn up for the books. My initial reaction was that it can’t be Ravi @AaronThiara that gets killed at Xmas (not that I want it to be) or they wouldn’t be bringing them in, would they?"
Meanwhile, the soap's Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said of the new arrivals: "We’re excited to introduce Priya and Avani, two women guaranteed to cause big drama in Albert Square. Little is known about Ravi and Priya’s doomed romance, but she’s a big missing piece in his past. The revelation that he’s got another child will floor Ravi, and he is set to face a big challenge in his life when he is forced to cope with such a big shock to the system. We’re delighted to welcome Sophie and Aaliyah to the EastEnders family."
