If you've ever stumbled across a picture on social media that claims to have something hidden within it, you'll know how frustrating it can be when you spend ages staring at the image but still can't find the sneaky detail that everyone else can. And if that happens to you fairly often, then this optical illusion might just make you want to tear your hair out - as it's designed to look different depending on your eyesight.
The image went viral after being posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) and to most people, it just shows a black-and-white photo of two young girls sitting next to each other in what appears to be a park. If you have 20/20 vision, then unfortunately, that's probably all you'll see in the image. However, if you wear glasses or contact lenses, try taking them off and look at the picture again - do you see anything different?
When the picture was posted online, the caption read: "Nearsighted fam: take your glasses off and pull your phone away from your eyes. Look at the blonde girl."
So, do as the caption says and look at the blonde girl in the picture from a distance, without your glasses on or contact lenses in. You should be able to see the blonde girl transform into the face of a rather creepy looking old woman. The woman's chin and mouth should appear where the girl's top is, while the shadow on the girl's neck and in the kink of her wavy hair should create two sunken eyes.
The post has been baffling people online, with many glasses-wearers left horrified at the unsettling way the photo transforms without their corrective eyewear. One person said: "Freaked me out!", while another added: "Thanks, I hate it," while a third posted: "That was unexpected. Very cool."

And those with perfect vision have also been commenting on the post, as they were left frustrated that they were unable to see the change in the image at all. Someone wrote: "I'm not seeing anything", as someone else jokingly asked: "For those of us with eagle eyes, what are you mole people seeing?"
Thankfully, some helpful people have edited the picture to make it blurry so that those with 20/20 vision still have a chance of seeing the creepy face lurking in the image.
