Take That sparks frenzy with fans as logos begin appearing across the country
Take That has suggested its comeback tour is on the horizon by dropping major hints across the UK, and fans are having quite the reaction.
Followers of the 90s boyband spotted a logo across the pitch of the Milton Keyes Stadium in Swansea yesterday, prompting a surge of speculation that a Wales gig is nearly upon us.
If that wasn't exciting enough, Take That's iconic logo also appeared as a lit-up projection outside the Manchester Co-Op Live Arena, the Home Park Stadium in Plymouth, City Ground in Nottingham and the Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol. The award-winning band's frontman, Gary Barlow, sparked further excitement after sharing photos of the logos at the venues on his Instagram story.
Fans have been quick to share their reactions to the teasers online, with many taking to Twitter to share their excitement over seeing the band live again. "Definitely just dragged Deano out in my pyjamas to get a pic of the Take That logo at the city ground, I’m so damn excited!!! Pls may be this a sign they come to Notts on tour," one person wrote.
The Take That logo has appeared across a football pitch in Swansea"SHUT THE FRONT DOOR," another ecstatic fan tweeted, while another simply said, "I'M SO READY." Not everybody responded to the logos with such enthusiasm, however. It appears the double 'Ts' have baffled a number of people, many of whom were not familiar with the band's geometric emblem. "Didn’t even know it was a Take That Logo," one person admitted, while another tried to clear up the confusion: "For those who are not 90s kids lol, that’s the Take That logo."
Take That's Howard has so many cars he's run out of room to store them all
The Take That logos have confused some folksTake That last performed together in 2019 during their sold-out Odyssey: Greatest Hits Live Tour. The gigs were led by Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, with Robbie Williams and Jason Orange notably skipping the reunion. Dates for Take That's tour have yet to be confirmed, but it's speculated they'll likely be back on the road by May or June 2024.
Gary Barlow has already confirmed that the group has dedicated the upcoming year to live shows and promoting their new music.
"We haven’t done a world tour for years," he said. "So we will take this new record everywhere and there will be a few surprise places that we haven’t toured before." Their next gig will take place in Hyde Park BST in London on July 1, 2024. The highly-anticipated concert will see them joined by a number of other 90s and noughties pop acts, including Sugababes, The Script and Will Young.
