Emmerdale fans have been left frustrated with Leyla Harding as they accused her of "forgetting the past" after her son, Jacob Gallagher, suffered a severe allergic reaction on Monday night.
Earlier this week, Victoria Sugden mistakenly told Jacob, who has a nut allergy, that a slider at the tasting event was nut-free, leading to a severe allergic reaction. After Jacob's Auto Adrenaline Injector broke, panic ensued as Victoria frantically tried to search for another before Jacob managed to indicate there was one in his car.
After an agonising wait, Victoria was finally able to administrate the Auto Adrenaline Injector and Jacob was rushed to hospital with his loved ones anxiously waiting to hear his outcome. Later, a sheepish Victoria confessed to her mistake, admitting to using nut oil as she was rushing around at the event. Jacob's protective mum, Leyla Harding, was left furious as the episode ended with her shouting: "You nearly killed my son!"
On Tuesday, Victoria admitted her mistake to Gabby Thomas, who revealed she had lost potential buyers for HOP. Later, Leyla was shocked to find Victoria still there and threatened to ruin her business. And it wasn't long until Gabby fired Victoria, leaving her devastated.
Soap watchers were quick to criticise hypocritical Leyla as they pointed out that earlier this year Jacob almost died when he was stabbed by his mum's drug dealer Callum during her drug addiction storyline. Taking to social media, one person said: "I understand Leyla is angry about Jacob having an anaphylactic shock but several months ago Jacob got hospitalised because he was stabbed by Leyla's drug dealer! #Emmerdale!"

A different account put: "Leyla got some nerve! She got Jacob stabbed a few months ago #Emmerdale", another follower wrote: "#emmerdale Excuse me Leyla? Who was responsible for him getting stabbed before?!!" while a different viewer added: "Leyla your drug dealer also nearly killed your son #Emmerdale @emmerdale."
David Metcalfe also brought this up, saying to Leyla: "It was only five minutes ago that he was in that bed because of you!" to which Leyla replied: "That's low! Why are you throwing this in my face right now?" with David adding: "It's true, though. Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. It's just been a long night."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
