EastEnders viewers have been left intrigued by newcomer and "Lola lookalike" Nadine after she made a debut on the BBC One soap on Monday.
Earlier this week, Jay Brown returned to Albert Square after a night of walking having not been able to sleep due to grief after the death of his beloved wife Lola Pearce. Soap fans will recall that Lola tragically passed away in June, with the episodes airing in May, after her devastating brain cancer battle. Jay has struggled with the death of his wife and on Monday Jay was warmed as he met Nadine on his walk, who has a striking resemblance to Lola.
Later in the episode, the pair bonded but Jay soon learnt that Nadine is an escort to help her through university and he abruptly left after dropping her off to a client. On Tuesday, Jay apologised to Nadine for his abrupt departure and took her for a drink in The Albert where the pair put aside the misunderstanding.

Sinister link
Soap watchers have been quick to speculate that Nadine could in fact already have a secret link to one of Albert Square's residents. Viewers will recall that Theo Hawthorne has been making Stacey Slater's life a misery. Theo's true motive was finally exposed earlier this month, with Stacey realising that he was her online client and had been the one stalking her. She had been subjected to many horrors at the hands of the at-the-time unknown man, who had sent her flowers to her home, and even broke into her house and snuck into her bedroom and ripped up all her cam clothes.

In scary scenes, Theo trapped Stacey in her kitchen as he tried to explain why he'd been doing all these horrible things to her. And despite fans hoping this might be the last of Theo, the stalker took new worrying steps last week as he moved into the flat next to Stacey and her family, leaving Stacey even more terrified.
Soap watchers are now wondering whether Theo could be stalking or linked to Nadine too. Taking to social media, one person said: "So is new chick a cam girl or an escort? Cos if the former- is she involved with Theo? #EastEnders."
Secret family
Only recently, Emma Harding, played by Patsy Kensit, arrived back in Walford following the tragic death of her daughter Lola. The estranged mother to Lola, played by Danielle Harold, first turned up to Walford after Lola decided to track her down but soon changed her mind.
After Emma came clean to Lola about her identity, the pair began to bond but Lola's condition – due to her brain cancer diagnosis – worsened. Things soon got too much for Emma, who decided she couldn't watch her daughter deteriorate, and Lola later tragically died in May without her mother by her side.

Emma is Lola's long-lost mother and Lola passed away earlier this year (BBC / Kieron McCarron)Emma, filled with regret, was seen paying her respects at Lola's funeral as she showed up with a huge bunch of flowers – but decided not to sit down with the congregation at the funeral service. The heartbreaking sighting in June was the last appearance on the BBC soap from Emma until last week.
Some fans think Nadine could be Emma's secret daughter therefore making her Lola's long-lost sister. Taking to social media, one person said: "Do you think Nadine is Emma’s daughter? #EastEnders" to which a different account added: "Nadine is either a figment of jay’s imagination or emma’s secret daughter (lola’s sister) #eastenders."
Sad twist
Some viewers think that Nadine might not even be real and could be Jay's imagination due to grief after the death of his beloved wife Lola. Taking to social media, one person said: "Nadine isn't real is she?...#EastEnders", a different account put: "Why do I feel like Nadine doesn’t actually exist and is a figment of Jay’s imagination caused by delusions because he isn’t sleeping #Eastenders" while another fan added: "Some people are speculating that Nadine is a figment of jays imagination as she only appears when no other main characters are present, and her clothes are almost identical to some of her previous outfits. not sure what to think personally #EastEnders."
