Aldi is launching a new pizza delivery service to rival takeaway giant Domino's - but it will only be available for one day next month.

The discount supermarket chain will deliver takeaway pizzas to customers for just £3.99, to coincide with its new Ultimate Takeaway range. The new selection of pizzas is inspired by popular Domino's flavours.

Aldi says shoppers will make an 83% saving if ordering with them, compared to with Domino's. Customers who fancy giving the new scheme a try can pre-book their delivery timeslot through the dedicated website – aldipizzadelivery.co.uk - from today and will have their pizzas delivered on Tuesday, October 3, between 5pm and 9pm.

Sadly, the scheme will not be available nationwide. The delivery service will only be offered in the student-heavy cities of Manchester, Edinburgh, and Cardiff. According to the Aldi website, the postcodes it can delivery to are CF10 and 11 in Cardiff, EH2 and 3 in Edinburgh, and M13 and 15 in Manchester.

The pizzas offered in the new range are all 11.5-inch in size and include The Meaty One (524g) which is inspired by the Meateor, The Banger (462g) which is inspired by the Absolute Banger), and The Texas Style BBQ Chicken & Bacon (502g) which is inspired by Domino's Texas BBQ.

The Meaty One is topped with sausages and meatballs, The Banger is topped with spicy and smoky hotdog pieces, and The Texas Style has BBQ sauce with chicken and smoky bacon pieces. Pizza lovers can try two different flavours per order.

You should also be aware that there are limited numbers of pizzas available and once they're gone they're gone. However, if you miss out on this gimmick, then the Ultimate Takeaway range is set to be launched in Aldi stores nationwide from October 9.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “With prices of takeaways soaring, we’re excited to be able to offer shoppers delicious pizzas at a fraction of the price of expensive high-street chains. The quality ingredients and affordable price of the Ultimate Takeaway range will no doubt change people’s idea of the supermarket pizza.

“Better yet, we’re thrilled to be able to deliver this product hot to shoppers’ doors and truly treat our customers to the full takeaway experience.”
