Anyone who has ever tuned into The 1% Club will no doubt know that the questions can get very tricky indeed, with only the brainiest of quizzers reaching the final round. Those brave enough to give it a try are asked 15 logic-inspired questions of escalating difficulty, beginning with a question that 90 per cent of people polled were able to answer correctly.
After each round, the difficulty levels are fired up a notch, with contestants faced with questions that fewer and fewer of those polled answered correctly. This of course eventually results in a final, extremely tough question, that just one per cent will likely get right - an end result that gives the show its name.
Now one 10 per cent question has been dubbed the "hardest" ever, resulting in seven contestants bowing out of the show and three others only making it through the next round by making use of their passes. The question, which was asked on the Australian version of the show, goes as follows: "Edna's birthday is on the sixth of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the '?' of January." Set your timer for 30 seconds, and have a go for yourself.

Remember, although not a one per cent question, this is still a question that stumped 90 per cent of those polled. Ready? So, as you may well have already figured, Amir's birthday falls on January 24th, because, in this particular question each number corresponds perfectly with how many words along in the sentence it is. For example, sixth is in fact the sixth word in the sentence, while the 15th in the 15th word. By counting each word in turn until you get to the question mark, it becomes apparent that Amir's birthday falls on the 24th.

Of course, although the answer feels so very obvious once you've twigged it, you should really cut yourself some slack if it took you longer than 30 seconds to get it. After all, even The 1% Club contestants were left bamboozled. A clip of nobody getting the question right has since gone viral, after being shared by TikTok user @shambles_3, and some have dubbed it the "hardest 10 per cent ever".
